When I was pregnant with twins and going through agonizing labor pains, I begged my husband to take me to the hospital. Just as we were heading out the door, my mother-in-law spotted us and demanded, “Where do you think you’re going? Take me and your sister to the mall instead.” Without a second thought, my husband turned on me and ordered, “Don’t you dare move until I get back.” My father-in-law chimed in, “She can wait a few hours. It’s not that serious.” They walked out the door and left me there, doubled over in pain. I was saved only when an old friend happened to stop by and rushed me to the hospital. But the nightmare wasn’t over; my husband later burst into my labor room, shouting, “Stop this drama. I’m not wasting my money on your pregnancy.” When I called him out for his greed, he grabbed me by the hair and slapped me across the face. As I screamed in agony, he took it even further and punched my pregnant belly with his fist. What happened next was absolutely shocking.
